marc topoleski | Attorney
Marc is a Principal Attorney on our Business Immigration and High-Skilled Immigration teams. He is also the Managing Attorney and Founder of Ellis Porter. After working as an immigration attorney at two big law firms, Marc grew frustrated with the traditional way of providing immigration legal services, which was too complex and not client-friendly. So, in 2002, he started Ellis Porter with a mission to simplify the immigration experience for employers and individuals.
Marc works primarily with clients in the High-Skilled, Healthcare and Automotive/Engineering fields. He is a nationally-recognized expert on physician immigration issues, including J-1 waivers, and also has unique experience developing and managing comprehensive immigration programs for hospitals and healthcare organizations. True to his Detroit roots, Marc is also well known for his expertise handling immigration issues for global automotive suppliers. Marc also excels at developing work visa and green card strategies for scientists and researchers, as well as entrepreneurs and startup companies.
Clients appreciate Marc's ability to provide crystal clear explanations of complex immigration issues and his ability to find creative solutions to difficult immigration challenges. And, while he takes his job seriously, Marc doesn't take himself too seriously - just ask our staff about his uncanny knack for coming up with clever jokes and puns (and then watch them roll their eyes).
Marc's mother and her family immigrated to the U.S. from Germany after World War II, and his father's family has Polish immigrant roots. Growing up surrounded by an extended family of immigrants, Marc gained a deep appreciation of the positive cultural and economic contributions that immigrants make to our nation.
In his spare time, Marc enjoys attending his daughters' sports and dance competitions, traveling with his family, cooking, discovering new ethnic restaurants, promoting the health benefits of Paczki and going on bike riding adventures throughout Detroit.
